I decided to do a little flake of digging and got in touch with some of the photographers and the stars themselves to find out how they ended up beingness captured on CD cases worldwide, and where they are today.
Placebo – 'Placebo'
Coincidentally, just as I was starting to work on this web log, David Flim-flam decided to sue Placebo for the inclusion of his image on their debut album cover. Why? Van Halen – 'MCMLXXXIV'/'1984'

And what does Marcus recall from the twenty-four hours? He told me in 2012:
My brother and I but turned up. I call back the photo shoot was in a local park, we wore some crazy dress and messed around in pirate hats. My brother and I were more excited near the $fifty we received for the photo shoot.
And what's he up to today? "I moved back to the UK from Canada with my family when I was 12. I'1000 at present 27, living merely exterior of London in the Great britain with my beautiful wife and two astonishing children (six months and two years erstwhile). I graduated from university and have used my psychology (undergraduate) and man resource direction (post graduate) degrees to back up my career in Human Resource Direction, currently within the Pharmaceutical sector."

Nirvana – 'Nevermind'
It'southward probably i of the most iconic album covers e'er – but at the fourth dimension, lensman Kirk Weddle hadn't a clue who Nirvana were, or what a success the band and their album would go. Kirk tells me that, "I knew this would be a bully cover because the concept was so strong, but I had no thought the band would be and so adept or become so hot."
So how did he become involved in such an iconic photoshoot? Not many photographers at the time were shooting underwater commercially, and that was his specialty back then. "They found me in a source book. I immediately roughshod in love with the concept of a naked babe underwater, with no air, going afterwards a dollar on a fish hook," he says.
And it was pretty much just that – a iv month old baby, with no air, underwater. "Information technology's hard to shoot a four month old under water," says Kirk.
They can't talk, you tin't bribe them. They can't jiff when you are shooting. Information technology was his showtime time in the water and he wasn't swimming, he was drifting. I set up up a photographic camera in an underwater housing on a tripod. I did per focus and pre lite using a baby doll. Spencer's mom dunked him in and he drifted into the zone of the camera. I shot nigh 10 frames and Spencer's dad pulled him out. Nosotros did i more pass and he started to weep and I called it. The shoot lasted about 5 minutes. Shot 1/2 a roll of film.
So what'south that babe upwardly to today? Spencer Elden is now in his late 20s, living in LA and working as an artist (trying to make some coin off of his work since he and his father never asked for any royalties from the anthology sales) with Shepard Fairey.

Led Zeppelin – 'Houses Of The Holy'
Spencer's non the only kid who has to await back at naked pictures of himself equally a kid on an anthology sleeve – Stefan and Samantha Gates spent ten days on the Behemothic's Causeway in Northern Republic of ireland with photographer Aubrey Powell to complete Led Zeppelin's now famous (and controversial) album sleeve.

Only today, Stefan presents Cooking In The Danger Zone, a TV documentary in which he explores strange food stories in unsafe places beyond the globe (ie, trying some fat-tailed sheep testicles in Afghanistan).
